It’s a fantasy series based on a tabletop RPG plot originality isn’t key. Based on the hugely popular Critical Role livestreams, The Legend of Vox Machina Season 2 picks up right where the previous one ended, with a group of dragons calling themselves the Chroma. In order to defeat the dragons - in true RPG format - the gang of heroes will need to collect a bunch of weapons that can kill them. These dragons make up the Chroma Conclave, which is what this season’s storyline will be lifted from. Now, it seems, that dragon’s pals are out for destructive revenge. The clip probably occurs sometime in the first episode, as when we left our heroes at the conclusion of the first season they were in the midst of celebrating their triumph when a bunch of dragons appeared thanks to their killing of a dragon in the pilot episode.
Also at the panel, the cast confirmed that the show would be getting a third season. Now, thanks to a panel at NYCC, we’re getting our first-look at The Legend of Vox Machina season 2 with a video clip featuring dragons and… pretty much dragons. With the stakes raised and the pace slowing, The Legend of Vox Machina season 2 will provide the opportunity to get to know the party better - after everything has already come crashing down - as the group comes to terms with the destruction brought about by the Chroma Conclave. Laura Bailey (Vex'ahlia), Liam O'Brien (Vax'ildan), Taliesin Jaffe (Percival de Rolo, among other names), Ashley Johnson (Pike Trickfoot), Marisha Ray (Keyleth), Sam Riegel (Scanlan Shorthalt), Travis Willingham (Grog Strongjaw), and Matthew Mercer (Various) will all be reprising their roles. The original cast is slated to return, which is somewhat unsurprising, given that every party member is a producer and continues to work on Critical Role. Additionally, The Legend of Vox Machina season 2 sees the return of Uriel (Khary Payton) and Delilah (Grey DeLisle), as both characters are featured in images released by Prime Video, and Lance Riddick ( John Wick) joins the series as Thordak the Cinder King, the leader of the dragons. Amazon Studios also confirmed that beloved Critical Role characters Zahra (Mary Elizabeth McGlynn) and Kashaw (Will Friedle) would make their The Legend of Vox Machina debut. Now Amazon Studios has revealed details from The Legend of Vox Machina season 2, including a confirmation that the fight with the dragons, known as the Chroma Conclave, will take place for multiple seasons, which is no surprise, given that The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 is already confirmed.
